05/09/2005 Late last year, we managed to have a rash of vandalism with someone keying several automobiles, as the cost increased it became apparently clear to us that the security methods that we were using we completely outdated and of no great use in catching or prosecuting anyone wishing to commit a crime on our lot. Early this year someone broke into and vandalized a new vehicle with almost $5000.00 damage being done to the interior alone. This vehicle was on our front line, under lights and certainly in plane sight of anyone passing. This was the straw that finally broke the camel’s back. Searching the Internet as well as all the automobile magazines, our study finally narrowed us down to one company, which continued to surface each time matching our needs. This company was Auto Focus Security of Juno Beach Florida. A meeting was set for one of their representatives to come directly to the dealership to give an overview of what their company did, the cost involved and how that they would go about protecting this particular dealership and its needs. Needless to say, we signed a contract that very day and installation began within a short couple of weeks. To date we have what we feel is a state of the art security system, we have had no further incidents since the installation due mostly to the fact of constant monitoring and the ability for the monitors to speak directly to anyone walking on to the lot at night. Most importantly, there has been no further need to wake up in the middle of the night to a phone call from the local police department requesting our presence at the dealership. One would think that would be the end of our testimony, however, it just so happens that during this installation time, we were in the middle of negotiations for the renewal of our garaging insurance policy for the upcoming year. Due to our most recent loss runs, the premiums had started to become more expensive with each new renewal. Upon notifying our underwriter that we had installed Auto-Focus Security, we were able to lower our overall cost back to a level it had been over two year ago, which covered a great deal of the expense we had just incurred for the installation of the security system itself. If asked today, would we recommend this system over any other system we had done our research on; the answer would certainly be yes. We are able to log on even at our home and view any portion of the dealership from the interior or the exterior as we wish, 24/7, we receive a shift report each and every morning, hand written with the events of the last evening, including any incident that was felt important enough to comment on. With the passing of our first half year of service with Auto Focus, we are presently looking forward, for the first time, to the renewal of garaging insurance. Our loss run so far this year stands a good chance of being zero for the very first time since we have been in business. Thank you for your kind attention.Sincerely, James R.
